Venice should have meant happiness for Othello and Desdemona, but their was so much secrecy and corruption taking place, that they never got to experience the happiness that should have strengthened them as a married couple. If the Turks hadn't invaded Cyprus, then Othello could have learnt about Desdemona as a person, and then he could have trusted and believed her, rather than taking Iago's lies over her promises.
