the only way that people can rebel against the government. The fact that Winston is able to lead a double life, and is able to corporate in both worlds proves that he can rebel. People are able to rebel in the fictional Oceania setting because they can lie. Because they can lie, and play these greats roles in the play of Oceania they can rebel against the government, and still be down with Big Brother.
