Horatio seemed to be Hamlet's only true friend throughout the course of the play. Where many men befriended Hamlet, they later either betrayed or neglected him. Horatio, however, stays Hamlet's side throughout the course of the play, never once questioning his motives or principles.
Throughout the play, Horatio is seen as constantly looking out for Hamlet's well-being and putting any assignments from Hamlet before himself. In ACT IV, SCENE VI, Horatio receives a letter from

it. In no part of the play does Horatio ever seem to change his goal or stop caring about Hamlet.
In general, Horatio shows a great love for Hamlet and never ceases to prove it when he can. He shows it in his speech and in his actions. His dedication to Hamlet is like that of a servant but he is a good friend of Hamlet's and, seemingly, his only real friend in the play.
