Many elements can be classified in what makes a southern small town. They can be seen as many interdependent units that work together for the better of the whole. These units include people, churches, governments, businesses, schools, and recreation facilities, which are involved in giving birth to a geographical area; therefore, a classification of local inhabitants of a southern small town will be the focal point of this essay.

Finally, the Transplant fills in the rest of the elements that are missing. Education, training, and income are to name of few. It takes all kinds of people to keep a southern small town running. This includes Rednecks, Isolators, Busybodies, and the Transplants. All have found a way to co-exist so that the town may grow and prosper. As the town continues to grow the forever battle of Locals versus the Transplants will grow too.
