Greeks did not have that many slaves that worked the fields because the Greek poleis were centered around the family and the household, and the Roman slaves were primarily agricultural workers, illustrates the need for differences in societies. It is important that each civilization has its own elements that are different from any other. Though it divides humans now, as it divided cultures from the ancient civilizations as well, diversity is what makes the world.
