The Korean War held many interesting and important aspects for global politics as well as military ones for the United States. This new beast was borne from mutual fear and arrogance that we have come to know as limited war. In Chapter 16 Weigley discusses the now seemingly predictable and non-eventful set of factors which were at the time of the Korean War a load of questions for both Americans, and communists alike. This Napoleanic strategy is not discussed by Weigly in the chapter, which is perhaps its biggest drawback. Weigley does not give quite the wide range of possible consequences, as were known when he wrote the book. But for the time he takes to discuss it, he does a fairly good job mixing political, and military issues together to give a fairly accurate picture of Korea.
