Amish not only keep life simple by avoiding modern technology, their religious customs, from baptisms to funerals are also kept simple. In their effort to remain humble and obedient, they teach individual achievement and self-fulfillment for the good of the community.
A strong sense of family, community, and security is not always present in modern day life, as we may know it. I believe this is why the Amish population continues to grow and thrive.
