The theory of evolution as opposed to the theory of creationism tries to explain why things are the way they are. Do I think we came from Monkeys? No, but neither do I believe a lot of creationist arguments set forth regarding spontaneous generation. However, what I do believe is all this hoopla is more psychological rather than literal. sort of way to balance the equation. This piece also shows that science in it's attempt to explain things shows unscientific their methods really are when they need to keep backtracking. Scientists at best have good estimates, not the best and the gullible public thinks that's good enough.
