In Macbeth, Macbeth goes through a transformation shown by the passage: "Between the idea and the reality... Falls the shadow" by T.S. Elliot from "The Hollow Men." Macbeth's thinking isn't very abstract in either soliloquy showing that Macbeth is still inside the cave and hasn't yet escaped it. Macbeth lives in darkness and that is shown throughout the play as Macbeth turn's to evil and can never quite crack the shell he lives in. It is sad to watch Macbeths demise, as he dies a man in the depraved human condition.
