Chester Carlson, an American physicist and lawyer, will be remembered as the man who invented the photocopier. Thanks to
this great man, xerography is now used in companies all over the world.
THE EARLY YEARS

In 1946, The Haloid Company (now called Xerox Corporation) called Carlson to tell him they were interested in his invention. On October 22, 1948, the Haloid Company announced to the public about the process of xerography. Then, two years later, in 1950, the first Haloid's Xerox Copier was sold.
On September 19, 1968, Chester Carlson died. His invention is now used by companies all around the world. He really did do something good for the world, and for himself.
