Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, is a frightening anxiety disorder, and before we attempt to look at the types of treatments used, and their effectiveness, it is important that we have an understanding of the basic theories behind the disorder. More research into the disorder is needed, and perhaps more public awareness of the treatments that are available at present. Though, as with all anxiety disorders de- stigmatisation, of the disorder by general public, especially the media would be a step in the right direction.
