Understandings of politics have been greatly affected by different conceptions and models of human nature. Examples can be found in political ideologies such as socialism, liberalism and anarchism. Therefore human nature as a debate for discussion is very important.
In this essay I will discuss what conceptions of human nature there are and how significant they are in relation to our understandings of politics. I will focus mainly on political ideologies and their different ideas

Even down to what political thinkers believe the most practical way of dealing with society and individuals. However new developments in politics such as international relations and comparative analysis focus more on what is really happening in the world today, and therefore focus away from human nature and behaviour. Nevertheless human nature is a fundamental issue in political understandings.
