Fredrick Douglass was born in February of 1818. H was born into slavery and throughout his life experienced many situations, which helped sculpt and develop him as a person. Slavery was a very important step for America to over come. I believe that everything happens for a reason. With the end of slavery many rights and movement came about opening up many new doors for the new world. The book shows us that we are all created equal.
