George Fredrick Handel was born in Germany in 1685. Unlike most composers of the time, he did not come from a musical family. His innate musical talent was recognized at a very young age, but his family did not support the development of his musical career. On the contrary, his father wished George to pursue a career in law. Nonetheless, George stuck with music.

He composed many organ concertos that were some of the first pieces to use a keyboard instrument as a solo instrument.
George Fredrick Handel is held by many as the most important and influential composer of the Baroque era. His advances in the opera are seen today as masterpieces, as well as shaping the oratorio. His powerful dramatic works have withstood the test of time and have sealed him as a musical great in history.
