George Washington Carver
George Washington Carver was born in spring 1865, on a Missouri farm near Diamond Grove. George father died in an accident and his mother was kidnapped by slave catchers. When George was a baby he was left with his white owners Moses and Susan Carver who raised him. When he was 12 or 13 he was a noted singer. He also enjoyed painting flowers, plants, and landscapes.

George was a small, soft spoken, religious man with a humble Demeanor. George believed that god was a collaborator in his laboratories. George tried to promote the interest of black and white people. George greatest desire was simply to improve the lives of poor people across the entire southern United States. George died in 1943. George was buried at his beloved Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, where he had revolutionized American southern agriculture.
