Homophobia is a problem in public school systems, denying homosexual students a safe learning environment. Everyday a student is discriminated against because of his sexual orientation. Gay, lesbian and bisexual students are being verbally, physically, and academically abused. Homophobia is taking hard working student and creating a negative and damaging learning environment for them.

poorly in school. Students can only excel when they feel they are in a safe and equal learning environment. Verbal, physical and academic dissemination against homosexual students creates a dangerous and damaging environment. Homophobia has lead many gay and lesbian student to poor academic performance, social problems and attempts at suicide. It is essential that homophobia is taken out of the public school system and that all students receive a safe and healthy learning environment.
