As I began this assignment of investigating how a work of art appears in person rather then as a computer reproduction, I ran across a fairly large problem. As I got to the museum and opened my notes, I discovered that I was missing the information on which specific artwork I had chosen. in the textbook. Being that the same artist created both during the same time period, I can tell you several benefits I received from seeing the statue in person. The size was much larger than I expected, and the color, texture and intricacy were much more defined. Although I think that studying illustrations are very worth while, I think by seeing the art in person, the entire picture and objective of studying art is completed.
