The poetry of Les Murray and the film "Of Mice and Men" represents and values the bush differently because of the different countries and time periods. The film represents American bush life as tough, hard, demanding and different from Australian bush life. Lack of money and a piece of land in their heads means men are tough on each other. There is not equality between women and the men and white men and black men. The values of American bush life are trying to live of the land without owning any land, keeping secrets and earning respect from other men.
