According to the RDA (recommended dietary allowance) an infant should have an intake of iodine that is 40 - 50 mcg; children should 70 - 120 mcg; and adults should have 150 mcg. Iodine is not stored in the body, so it needs to be taken in small amount everyday to prevent iodine deficiency problems.
