observations of the first Astronomer Royal of England, John Flamsteed. Newton needed these observations to perfect his lunar theory. This caused much conflict with Flamsteed.
Newton contributed so much more than just science. He also showed great interest in alchemy, mysticism, and theology. Isaac Newton died in 1727, but his contributions will live forever.
