In conclusion, the major theme of the Great Gatsby is moral responsibility, or lack thereof. Tom, Daisy, Jordan, Nick and most of all Gatsby were all foolish in some way; to believe that everything would turn out alright. Hurting people, and ruining the lives of others was all commonplace in this novel, The Great Gatsby.
