Looking at Paintings
For my first piece of art I chose a black and white picture by Louise Bourgeois. It is called Sainte Sebastienne. The format is a vertical rectangle and the medium used in this picture is a dry point etching on paper. I chose this piece of art because it reminded me of the Woman of Willendorf , a sculpture that we studied earlier this year. Like the Woman of

and dramatic quality of the buildings eerie light in the event of an imminent storm. This work of art is significant to me in the fact that the artist is from Ashtabula, Ohio the town home of my husband. For that reason I would take the art work home. If the artist was from anywhere else I don't feel that I would take it home because of the dreary and depressing effect that it portrays.
