and they both fall off going down a hill and the Indians just laugh, all this while both of them are on the verge of death. However after the death of her child (that she physically carried with her while in captivity) it was almost like she lost interest in living her own life. At the same time Cabeza de Vaca became familiar with the Indians and learned to respect and depend on each other.
