viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten conducted negotiations with congress on how the
partition would occur and in 1947 a Muslim state of Pakistan and a Hindu state of India was
granted.
Ghandi was a man of great strength, this strength came in his ability to unify the people of India.
His popularity within the masses was enormous and with this he combatted the unfairness of
British rule and to drive them to grant independance to India.
