Throughout the history of literature, every piece has contained some form of conflict. Those that did not, were never published and most likely never read in their entirety due to the extreme case of boredom readers were seized by half-way through. In the end, it is apparent that without conflict, a story has nothing. In order to create anything even remotely interesting, two contrasting sides must meet and the story unfolds from there. In "Pygmalion," Shaw illustrates his mastery of creating conflict that is not only interesting but also able to effectively display his message.
