It is also clear that the tower added to St. Sernin is Gothic. It appears to be like those upon the north transcept of Chartres. Their differences refer to the difference in style periods.
St. Sernin and Chartres Cathedral represent the differences between Gothic and Romanesque architecture. Romanesque was the beginning to the Gothic period. It closely resembles and evolving of style. The two structures were made to add intense beauty to their great faith.
