was always open to change and willing to try new things. While 'A Fortunate Life' is set from the early to middle 20th century, Leunig's cartoon is a contemporary piece. The difference in values is very apparent, as Facey's attitudes towards change are very open. Leunig on the other hand is making a social commentary about how attitudes and values towards change have changed (irony) in our time, and that change is much more controlled.
