Do "Americans" represent Europeans who live in America, or do "Americans" have their own unique personality built up of the European back round and characteristics throughout history? Many historians agree with the idea that there is a unique American character throughout history and in today's society. There are many different character traits within the American character and different historians have both different and similar ideas on what the characteristics are.

As you can see, the American character is built up of many different traits and many different historians have different views on what these are. But, there are traces of a unique American character throughout history. America wouldn't be America, without the American character.
