The relationship between Enkidu and Gilgamesh is that of a true friendship. The friendship between the twp is somewhat ironic because Enkidu honors Gilgamesh greatly, as a friend, as an adopted brother, and as a leader. He laments, he weeps for a while, he is very sad and feels a great loss in his sense of well being. This grieving period for Gilgamesh truly shows his love for Enkidu, he feels as though he has lost a brother, which in a sense he has. The word friendship is an undestatement for the two.
