F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, "The Great Gatsby" is an interesting experience. The characters are exceptionally compelling to me as a reader for the reason that their inner morals are nothing like their outer appearances. As a reader you never know what to expect of them due to the extremes in both the inner and outer manifestations. an extremely respected athlete that has a beautiful wife and daughter but just the same as all the others he also is somewhat the contrary of being a moral person. After all this said, it's plain to see as a reader you never know what to expect of these superficial characters due to the extremes in both the inner and outer appearances.
