Plato was an extremely intelligent man for his time. These ideas are difficult to
conceive in today's world let alone almost 2500 years ago! If it wasn't for Plato, we would have no knowledge of Socrates, no Aristotle, possibly no schools, and we'd be missing out on other things as well.
