Most if not all of the events in this story are unlike any of those in ordinary life in that it has some sort of magic to it since the Green Knight lived after being decapitated. The chivalrous acts, noble hero, daring deeds, faraway setting, and the less than ordinary events make Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a romantic piece of literature.
