Throughout the middle ages, there were two main powers that had control. These two powers had a lot of conflict with each other. The two Powers were Political and Religious leaders. Also, the power of these leaders changed throughout the Middle Ages.

the Religious Leaders had more power than the Political leaders, because they had the power to excommunicate kings, which would potentially result in loss of support for the king. The Religious leaders also had more money, which forced the political leaders to come to the church for support when it came to taking large actions.
As a result in shifting powers between church and political leaders, this greatly effected the future, and modern day life.
