on posters and bulletins yelled and predicted WWI to be, "the war to end all wars," or "the war to make the world safe for democracy (nv.cc.va.us)." WWI was named these two things at the time, probably to enlist more and more people, but which of course both did not come true. WWI was not the war to end all wars, nor was it, the war that made it safe for democracy.
