and made more efficient. The flourishing business raised wages and spurred economic advancement. Americans now had more recreation time and more money to spend and invest. The time period was also marked by social change that created a liberal approach toward the sexes. Materialism and commercialism mutated American psyche and diminished the role of the church. However, despite the overwhelming advancement the country was ready to take a deep plunge into the Great Depression era.
