was a rise and decline in certain industries. The obvious rise was in the industries, which were linked directly to the war or the war effort. Also the raw material industries grew with demands for goods increasing steadily throughout the war. Industries not directly linked to the war often declined with employees leaving to work in the better-paid munitions jobs. The war had a massive affect on industry changing the face of British industry forever.
