Even with the evolutionary changes within our society, women in the Middle East are still being discriminated against. Islamic views in the Middle East are the fundamental cause of the repression of women there, and remain the major obstacle to the evolution of their position. There are many ways that women in the Middle East are being discriminated against. As a community we condemn these horrific tragedies, yet only few stand up in their defense. These women should be freed of poverty, indignity, restrictions, and humiliation. It is time for them to be able to enjoy a life worthy of human beings.
